Oh Mr. Braylon Fenstermaker how I do love you!

What a weekend for little Mr. Fenstermaker. Some good mixed in with the sad but overall he had quite the couple days! He was initiated into the big kid world of birthday parties as we celebrated western style with cousin Aidan. It took a lot of energy and even faster feet to keep up as well as much needed concentration to keep up to speed with what everyone was doing! He did his best to stay with them. There was a hard core nap on the way home after that! Sunday brought church ( always enlightening for everyone in the Fenstermaker house😊) where he still cries (with out tears) every time we drop him off. I know he has fun because it takes him less then a minute to turn it off! They have fun listening to an interactive bible lesson and of course making friends and learning how to share! After an up lifting morning at church we headed home for lunch, a nap and a car seat adjustment! I have officially broke down and turned his car seats forward facing. I know by law I could have done it over three months ago but working in child care I know the longer they are rear facing the better and safer! As tall as he is, as heavy as he is and as strong as the little turkey can be - IT IS JUST MORE HASSLE THAN NOT! So.... He is officially a big boy! He was a little in shock the first ride as we headed to outlet first library visit! He looked as if he were being hypnotized. We decided to rent a short video on colors and see how he felt about he DVD player. I would say at his point his interest is 50/50. On top of all the fun and firsts we had he also had a little sad. He has found that swinging his fist and hitting his momma and daddy is not quite as fun as he thought. I know many believe he is too young but the little stinker is smart and knows what he is doing - clearly noted by the evil laugh and smile on his face as he is hitting you. Sit outs have officially begun in our house! He had four yesterday for hitting, two at day care today (strongly encouraged by me) and one tonight. I want rules and consequences to be straight across he board and our amazing day care provider is on board! He has a spot in our house upstairs and downstairs for time outs he only sits for a minute and after reminding him again of why he was there he gets a hug, a kiss and reassurance that momma still loves him no matter what. He sits (not happily) until I come back to get him. So I believe more than ever he does understand fully and completely and that they are working! Let the true test of my profession and parenting skills start!

Like I said .... BIG weekend for our little rockstar! Would I change it ....... NEVER!!! I love him more than any sad choice he can make and I hope he lives everyday knowing that and I work harder everyday to show him that! Love this life God gave me and I am blessed to go through the motions!
