Travel...

We were able to travel to see family this past weekend and see all the new they have in their lives. We loved our time their, the comfort of their home and of course all the fun we had being together. We learned just how scared Brekkon is of characters in costume (Chuckie Cheese birthdays will never happen for us!) and discovered an a amazing park with a fabulous splash pad. The boys did not want to leave! A trip back soon is a must!

Donuts

We of course made yet another trip to the orchard but this time strictly for an afternoon snack of apple donuts and we found cider too! (we were thirsty and no cups so we made due!)

Because..

.... this is my world!

One night get away!

We were lucky enough to be able to spend some time with a few friends as we got a night away. We are blessed and beyond thankful for Nana who came and got he boys out of the house for a fun filled weekend. I'm pretty sure when they say goodbye is the only time they think about us until we get back. They love keeping her on her toes! Andrew and I traveled for a quick one night to Galena where I found the yummiest shandy beer and an uninterrupted nights sleep! We may have had a little too much fun with snap chat!

Surgery

Right after Labor Day this brave mister had his adenoids removed. We were at our wits end with the runny noses, horrible coughs and sick to your stomach drainage. He was such a trooper and braved through it better than I though. These moments are hard on a momma but we were in great hands. From here we are hoping for a much healthier fall and winter. (Fingers crossed!)

We also had to waste some time waiting for surgery (HA!).....

Labor Day weekend!

We spent a weekend daddy free at the start of September while he was enjoying some "man" time with Papaw and his uncle. The guys had a blast fishing in Canada while the boys and I had fun making our second trip to the orchard and a fun filled day at the campground visiting family! We enjoyed the park, a local park that has animals and an education center and of course the camp fire for a short bit!

Look how good he is getting at his "human" drawings!!!

Our first 2016 outing to the orchard!

One of our all time favorite things to do each year is visit the local apple orchard. We love walking the orchard, picking apples, riding Bessie (the tractor/wagon) and they have the best freshly made apple turnovers, apple donuts and apple slushies. We always make sure to go out there hungry and we tend to go more than we should. The best parts ... It is fun, it is yummy and we are supporting a local business. Seems like a no brainier to just keep going. (In fact we went for the second time this weekend!)

When our trip was all over we used up some of our pickings to create the yummiest Apple crisp! The pan was clean before I knew it!
