Oh Mr. Braylon Fenstermaker how I do love you!
What a weekend for little Mr. Fenstermaker. Some good mixed in with the sad but overall he had quite the couple days! He was initiated into the big kid world of birthday parties as we celebrated western style with cousin Aidan. It took a lot of energy and even faster feet to keep up as well as much needed concentration to keep up to speed with what everyone was doing! He did his best to stay with them. There was a hard core nap on the way home after that! Sunday brought church ( always enlightening for everyone in the Fenstermaker house😊) where he still cries (with out tears) every time we drop him off. I know he has fun because it takes him less then a minute to turn it off! They have fun listening to an interactive bible lesson and of course making friends and learning how to share! After an up lifting morning at church we headed home for lunch, a nap and a car seat adjustment! I have officially broke down and turned his car seats forward facing. I know by law I could have done it over three months ago but working in child care I know the longer they are rear facing the better and safer! As tall as he is, as heavy as he is and as strong as the little turkey can be - IT IS JUST MORE HASSLE THAN NOT! So.... He is officially a big boy! He was a little in shock the first ride as we headed to outlet first library visit! He looked as if he were being hypnotized. We decided to rent a short video on colors and see how he felt about he DVD player. I would say at his point his interest is 50/50. On top of all the fun and firsts we had he also had a little sad. He has found that swinging his fist and hitting his momma and daddy is not quite as fun as he thought. I know many believe he is too young but the little stinker is smart and knows what he is doing - clearly noted by the evil laugh and smile on his face as he is hitting you. Sit outs have officially begun in our house! He had four yesterday for hitting, two at day care today (strongly encouraged by me) and one tonight. I want rules and consequences to be straight across he board and our amazing day care provider is on board! He has a spot in our house upstairs and downstairs for time outs he only sits for a minute and after reminding him again of why he was there he gets a hug, a kiss and reassurance that momma still loves him no matter what. He sits (not happily) until I come back to get him. So I believe more than ever he does understand fully and completely and that they are working! Let the true test of my profession and parenting skills start!
Like I said .... BIG weekend for our little rockstar! Would I change it ....... NEVER!!! I love him more than any sad choice he can make and I hope he lives everyday knowing that and I work harder everyday to show him that! Love this life God gave me and I am blessed to go through the motions!

15 months ... Already?!?!
It seems impossible that the quiet, still, precious, amazing loud crying bundle of joy we brought home as we joined he world of parenting is now 32.5inches tall, 27.5 pounds, has a 7-10 word vocabulary, gives kisses and hugs, would run off a set of stairs, has no fear and has the biggest personality in the world!
I have been around kids my entire life. I know they change from day to day. I know they are curious and fearless and passionate but all the "ideas" you had before about what you "thought" you would feel as a parent is truly NOT THE REAL FEELINGS!! I had the idea that I was going to be fun and care free as a parent ... Right!?! It still kills me to see Braylon cry at drop off even though I have comforted more than a hundred families in the same situation, telling hem it would only last a short time and e done. I want my child to learn but fear he will be hurt...I want him to experience but fear he will be hurt! Though I will say I do let him dare me sometimes and I have to laugh it off as a learning experience no matter what could or could not happen.
I guess what I am saying is the past 15 months have flown by. I couldn't imagine my life as anything other than being a momma! Braylon has grown into quite the toddler and though I may struggle to find my balance at times it is truly he most amazing thing in the world!
Here are some fun facts for 15 months
- still has a fuzzy and would tug it around all day if someone would let him
- has a new passion (that's an understatement) for books at bedtime. He must take at least one to bed with him every night
- recently wet to he chiropractor and although it has done wonders for his immune system he HATES going!
- can say : momma, daddy, Diezel, ball, mine, hi, bye, and occasionally uh oh and something along the lines of fuzzy. We are working hard on new words every day
- loves zipping
- has a high passion and love for all vacuum cleaners
- has happy feet that dance and mad feet that stomp
- love ice cream as much as if not more than mommy
- is a super cleaner upper if it is a game
- is ready for a weather change to get outside and play!!
Good night all and much love!!!
